Megastructures: Star Tram

I was lucky enough to contribute a small part to the book "Megastructures" by Neil Blevins published in 2022.

A Star Tram is a concept for a space vehicle where the spaceship is shot down a long tube on the planet surface, launching it into space, like a giant blow dart.
